Granite Bay Moving

As the story goes, Granite Bay was originally called “Granite Bar,” named for the crystalline rock found here, one of many gold mining camps that appeared on the banks of the American River during the 1850s. Today, Granite Bay is home to about 20,000 people. On 1987, it was officially recognized as a census-designated place in Placer County.  Sacramento, a city of about a half-million people, is located thirty miles southwest.

If you are moving to Granite Bay, you are going to find out for yourself why this community calls itself a “great place to live, work, and play.” For starters, it is located at the edge of the picturesque Sacramento Valley, near the graceful sweep of the Sierra Nevada foothills. The weather is generally pleasant, and although summer temperatures reach easily into the 90s (°F), the air is dry and evenings are cool. Winters are mild, with high temps in the 50s and lows around 40. Good schools, low crime rate, and a high quality of life make moving to Granite Bay attractive.
