Spring into Your New Home in Northern California

Today is the first day of spring. It heralds a season of rejuvenation, of new life, new hope. (For allergy sufferers, it also says “pass the tissues.”) Here in northern California, you can tell spring is in the air. Garage and yard sales popping up, and people are going outdoors in ever greater numbers to enjoy our famously wonderful weather.

things to do in lake tahoeIf you are springing into a new home here, you’re in for a treat. Spring is the best time to go outdoors and experience northern California’s natural beauty.

In Grass Valley, you have options nearby for river rafting, fishing, kayaking, and sailing. Or you may enjoy hiking in the Hardrock Trails Area at Empire Mine State Historic Park. There are 14 miles of trails here winding through 800 acres. It’s a good place to run, cycle, ride a horse or walk your dog.

In Rocklin, you’re in a beautiful place with panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the Sutter-Butte mountains. We are just ten miles from the great outdoors at Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.  It’s an ideal place to hike, bike, run, camp, or picnic. Or you can go horseback riding, water skiing, and boating. If you like to drop a line into the water, you’ll enjoy angling for trout, bass (large mouth and small mouth), perch, and catfish.

If you’re looking to relocate to this area, spring is a great time to make your move. Summer is the busiest time of year for movers, but spring is not as busy since schools are still in session. There are many nice communities here in Ernie’s Van & Storage service area. You might want to check the neighborhoods and homes available in these nearby locales

Roseville, California. A vibrant city of about 128,000 people in Placer County along the eastern edge of the Sacramento Valley in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.

Auburn, California. The seat of government in Placer County, this small, picturesque city of about 13,000 is famous for its part in the California Gold Rush.

Nevada City, California. Just four miles from Grass Valley, Nevada City claims to be California’s best preserved Gold Rush town. The community is home to about 3,000 people, offering a small-town charm that many find irresistible.

We love it here in northern California, and we think you will, too. Ernie’s Van & Storage delivers to communities throughout the region. If you need help springing into your new home or getting acclimated to the area, we’re here to help. Just ask!
